Since it was incorporated in 1870, the city of Russellville, Arkansas, has functioned under the mayor-city council form of government. The mayor is elected to a four-year term, with each of the city’s eight aldermen elected to two-year terms. The eight aldermen represent four wards with two aldermen per ward.
